Can nasal irrigation get rid of my post nasal drip?

Heard about the benefits of nasal irrigation and am thinking about starting it.

Just came off a cold, which developed into a sinus infection. I have post nasal drip which makes me feel ill and keeps me up at night due to coughing. Can nasal irrigation get rid of this?
