is there a cure for post nasal drip?
well ive had post nasal drip for 3 days now and i hate it.is there a cure for post nasal drip.id love it if someone awncered my question thanks.
No there is not really a cure, but there are ways to reduce it. Post nasal drip has many causes including viral upper respiratory tract infections (common cold), sinusitis, and seasonal allergies. You have to treat the underlying cause in order for it to improve. Decongestants such as Sudafed are helpful. Saline irrigation (Ocean spray) can help and is available over the counter. Nasal corticosteroids (Flonase, Rhinocort, Nasonex etc.) can also help, especially in cases of seasonal allergies. Antihistamines (Claritin, Zyrtec, Benadryl etc) also can help especially with seasonal allergies. So it depends on the cause of your post-nasal drip. If it is due to a viral URI (cold), then you would expect your symptoms to improve within a week or so.
